Debathena is designed to install on top of an existing Ubuntu or Debian installation. If you don’t have one, we recommend starting with Ubuntu, which can be downloaded here.
Debathena is built for all current releases of Debian and Ubuntu for 32-bit and 64-bit PCs:
The configurations listed above are the ones fully supported by IS&T.
If you run a later, testing release of Debian or Ubuntu, packages for the current stable release are likely to work. For other architectures, most of the source packages should be easily portable.
The current exception is the OpenAFS kernel modules, which we only build for kernels in the supported distributions. If you run a different kernel, it is easy to build your own OpenAFS module.
Any problems should be reported to the maintainers.
