source: trunk/third/GConf2/README @ 18253

Revision 18253, 874 bytes checked in by ghudson, 22 years ago (diff)
This commit was generated by cvs2svn to compensate for changes in r18252, which included commits to RCS files with non-trunk default branches.
Line
1GConf is a configuration database system, functionally similar to the
2Windows registry but lots better. :-) It's being written for the GNOME
3desktop but does not require GNOME; configure should notice if GNOME
4is not installed and compile the basic GConf library anyway.
5
6GConf does require glib, ORBit, libxml, and the popt option parsing
7library.  libxml will be optional in the future if someone writes another
8storage backend. (Update: one is written but not enabled by default yet.)
