#111 fixed sapgui doesn't work on debathena kchen

Reported by kchen, 14 years ago.

Description

SAPGui (athrun sapgui saplogon) does not work on Debathena. With some trouble, one can make it past some initial errors, but not enough to make it actually useful. I'm not at a debathena machine at the moment, but was asked to file a ticket, so I can't give details, but I can fill them in later when I am at one.

#112 fixed split debathena-cluster-software: -extra-software, -extra-software-nox price

Reported by price, 14 years ago.

Description

Per discussion on athena10@, we're moving away from lockers in order to get timely updates without a maintenance burden. We should therefore make most of the "batteries included" functionality that formerly lived in lockers available both in cluster machines and on other typical Athena environments.

The current version of this is the debathena-cluster-software metapackage. As is it's not suitable for e.g. dialups like Linerva, because it includes openoffice.org and thunderbird. It should become two packages:

  • debathena-extra-software-nox for lynx, drscheme, and everything else non-graphical;
  • debathena-extra-software for the graphical stuff, plus a dependency on debathena-extra-software-nox.

Possibly some other names would be better.

#113 fixed libhesiod.so.0 problem opolon

Reported by opolon, 14 years ago.

Description

Hi. I have just installed debathena on an Ubuntu 64 bit machine using the install script. When I try to run certain apps (e.g. sas, stata, which I get thru add sas, or add stata), I get the following error message: /afs/athena/system/slw/unwrap: error while loading shared libraries: libhesiod.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

I have read some things about /etc/hesiod.conf getting overwritten when installing debathena (which I did using the install script) but I'm unsure what to do at this point. Any help will be greatly appreciated, as being able to run this on my research machine will be of great help to my ph.d. research.

Cheers
