In the Pharos world, in a large campus, you're not supposed to care about the state of the remote queue. But the terrible state of printing for the past few years has trained users that if their job doesn't show up in lpq output, it never got submitted. We may want to consider doing something about this. |

The games we play with bind-mounting apparently work less well in modern Natty, since when I attempt to eject Flash drives using the "eject" icon next to their name in the Nautilus browser, or right-clicking on the desktop icon and "Safely Remove device", I get a bunch of spurious errors ranging from "Cannot display computer://, already mounted" to D-Bus whining. It does appear to work, but this is confusing and stupid. |
