See ATN-41 for details. Running old binaries (ez, for example) produces the incorrect error message "command not found", when what it really can't find is the interpreter. We should document this, and possible provide something like "athrun consult checkbinary" or maybe just "strings foo | grep -i ld-linux.so.1" Also see LP335666 for the upstream bug. |

Or we should provide a trivial way of enabling it on a per-user basis without people having to edit .pinerc by hand. We may want to consider renaming "Old Pine Mail", since that may no longer be accurate. |

With {i386,amd64}_deb60, the sysname list is beginning to get clunky, and the presence of things like i386_linux3 in there occasionally causes users to end up with libc5 binaries which fail poorly. We should consider desupporting everything older than, say i386_linux24. (i386_linux24 was Athena 9.1, but is also the default sysname on RHEL4 and 5). |
