Description

Thanks to a user, we have a test case for a PDF which barfs when printed to mitprint with Evince, but succeeds when printed to mitprint with Acrobat.

I have verified the failure. Any PDF folks want to take a look?

er, right, the file: /mit/jdreed/Public/debathena/calc_hw1.pdf

When printed with Evince, the output is /mit/jdreed/Public/debathena/pdf-fail.pdf (that's a scan of the printouts).

  • Priority changed from high to low
  • Milestone changed from Precise Beta to The Distant Future

This particular screw case seems to be a PDF created with pdftex that was then munged by hand with PDFKit on Lion, and may well fall into the "Don't do that category." We're not the only people being screwed by PDFKit on Lion -- JetBlue? and American have been having boarding pass issues for a while now (see  https://twitter.com/JetBlue/status/211136438488670209, among others). So I'll keep this open, but it's unclear we can do much about it.
