Description
The greeter should, after some "idle" time, switch into a "screensaver" mode displaying a series of PNG files on the screen, to emulate "digital signage". This also involves figuring out what accomplishes blanking when the greeter is on, and changing its timeout.

Sorry, overloading of "blanking". There's "blanking" as in the screensaver activates and displays a black screen, and "blanking" as in DPMS and the monitor powers down. The latter timeout will not change.
The digital signage will be for Athena purposes only (a slightly lower bar than the gmotd). The Release Engineer may consult with the Senior Liaison to the Students to decide to post other relevant content. This will not be accessible by the general public, nor even IS&T-wide.
I feel like I'm missing some context here, so it's possible that if you can provide it, the below questions will be come less relevant. That said, my first reactions are:
1) By "changing the timeout" I assume you mean "raising the timeout". Doesn't avoiding screen-blanking so we can post digital signage qualify as "tripping over the talk" rather than "walking the talk"?
2) Does this put us in the position of then having to decide who is allowed to post things to the digital signage, or has that already been addressed?
