Description
"Locker Software" is meaningless to anyone new to MIT. Something like "MIT-provided Software" or "MIT-licensed Software" or even just "MIT Software" would be better.

I changed it to "MIT Software" in r24381. While I vaguely like the idea of populating these appropriately, it's a lot more work to maintain. If we ever get to the point of having packaging for the third party apps (haha), then we should definitely put them in the "right" categories. (That will have the side effect of making lintian stop whining about the number of things we do that don't confirm to freedesktop standards.)
Additionally, when we get xmoira or whatever, that doesn't necessarily have a good category, but definitely counts as "MIT Software" (we should possibly add an "Academic" sub category)
Alternatively, should we just put these entries in the appropriate existing menus (mostly "Education"), so that e.g. Matlab and Octave are next to each other?
