cluster-login-config does not correctly disable suspend and hibernate

Reported by: jdreed Owned by:
Priority: normal Milestone: Natty Beta
Component: -- Keywords:
Cc: Fixed in version:
Upstream bug:  LP:432598

Description (last modified by jdreed) (diff)

I still see suspend and hibernate in my indicator-applet-session ("power button") menu on a fully updated Lucid machine. c-l-c should be setting:

  • /apps/gnome-power-manager/general/can_hibernate false
  • /apps/gnome-power-manager/general/can_suspend false

Note that there is an upstream bug ( LP:432598) that supposedly got fixed in Karmic and Lucid. I haven't yet read the report in detail, but I wanted to get this on our radar.

Reading the upstream bug, it seems it was fixed in Lucid but not Karmic.

The answer, according to the upstream bug, is that you now use polkit for this. I... have no idea why we didn't deal last year, since the fix was released before Lucid even came out. Anyway, committed in r25138 and it works on my machine.

Received ACK, built and uploaded cluster-login-config_1.32

Tested from -development. The IAS does not show suspend or hibernate as options as expected. The Shut down... panel button still lists hibernate and suspend as options, but secretly just locks screen when either option is selected.
