Natty's d-i progress bar sometimes vanishes

After the progress bar gets to somewhere between 30 and 50%, it will vanish. The debconf debugging code shows the install is still proceeding, and it magically re-appears when it moves on to the next task. I suspect it's a specific package that's killing it, but I don't know what. This is largely cosmetic.

I saw this when installing stock Oneiric on bare metal (an Optiplex GX620). Admittedly I was on tty2 for most of the install.
