Timeline
10/25/02:
- 18:27 Changeset [18004] by
- Merged in from gdk-pixbuf 0.21: Fix byte alignment problems in DecodeHeader(), which caused bus errors on sparc.
- 17:51 Changeset [18003] by
- Hacks to support logins to multiple machines by the same user, plus other integration with our environment, and bug fixes: * Move the daemon lock directory to local disk, in /tmp/gconfd-$USER, so a per-machine instance of gconfd can run. * Don't hold a lock on the XML backend; instead, lock the backend only around a sync. * Add gconf_mkdir_private(), a wrapper for creating a private directory (mode 0700), which also sets the ACL in case the directory is in AFS. * Run gconfd under dustbuster; call setsid() in the daemon process, to disassociate it from the calling client. * Try to ping the server after we start it, in case it exited due to a failure to acquire the lock, to avoid greater lossage later. * Add an fsync() after the daemon writes its IOR to the lock file (otherwise, the file appears empty from other machines when it lives in AFS). * Handle a failure to read the IOR from the lock file. * Plug a descriptor leak in fork_exec_with_pipes(). * Fix a buffer overrun in subst_variables() (from the GConf mainline).
- 17:13 Changeset [18002] by

- From the mainline: In handle_text_plain_flowed(), test for a NULL end-of-line pointer before iterating in the empty line case.

10/21/02:

- 16:38 Changeset [17987] by
- Pullup of code that first appeared in OpenAFS 1.2.5. Make sure we remove things from our linked list of file descriptor handles when we zero them out. Fixes a fileserver crash we saw in the athena cell.

- 19:28 Changeset [17957] by
- Stop using the help locker. Just run htmlview on the appropriate URL.
10/07/02:
- 11:34 Changeset [17956] by
- Per request from warlord, set the hostname even if the machine uses DHCP. This differs from what we do on Solaris, which is to set the hostname in a separate init script after the network comes up (by reverse resolving). It's not clear that the Solaris behavior is right, because Linux machines might be laptops which move around.
10/01/02:
- 20:04 Changeset [17955] by
- Use POSIX utilities on Solaris.
- 19:51 Changeset [17954] by
- New spec file.
- 16:35 Changeset [17953] by
- Add Solaris support.
- 14:47 Changeset [17952] by
- Script to prime the athtools area with rpm so that we can use it to do the actual build. Unfortunately, that means building gmake and gcc first, so it's slow and may require athena cell tokens.
- 14:38 Changeset [17951] by
- Clean up build root handling by providing a default build root via the BuildRoot directive. (This won't affect where we actually install to, since we override it with the --buildroot directive.) This is what Red Hat does.
09/30/02:
- 11:42 Changeset [17950] by
- Use gnome-help-browser, not nautilus, as the default help browser; include both in the list of commonly used handlers.
- 11:40 Changeset [17949] by
- Use gnome-help-browser, not nautilus, as the default help browser.
09/29/02:
- 02:18 Changeset [17948] by
- Correct typo noticed by mitchb.
09/25/02:
- 12:19 Changeset [17947] by
- Add /etc/athena as the optional last argument (i.e. sysconfdir) to the post-install invocation of run-gnome-font-install. This will cause font maps to be written to /etc/athena/gnome/fonts, instead of /etc/gnome/fonts.
- 12:16 Changeset [17946] by
- Add a dependency on tetex to the gnome-print package, to ensure that TeX fonts are installed in the build root when font maps are generated during the gnome-print build.
- 12:13 Changeset [17945] by
- Add /usr/athena/share/texmf/fonts to the search path used to create the tex font map. Add /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts to the search path for the x11 map, for Solaris. Don't run "gs -h" to get the ghostscript font search path; gs is an attachandrun script, which fails in the build root, and we don't want to rely on fonts in the ghostscript locker.
- 12:07 Changeset [17944] by
- Change the target directory for run-gnome-font-install from $(sysconfdir) to $(DESTDIR)$(datadir), so that maps are written to the build's install target tree.
