The only place we use it is in zephyr-clients, and my understanding is that nobody actually _likes_ it. The note in there suggests it is used to prevent zephyr from starting before it is configured, but since 2.1.20010518.SNAPSHOT-18 (Thu, 19 Jul 2007 04:31:53 -0400), it has supported Hesiod. Also, with #702, the installer will preseed these debconf values. Also also, what are the actual consequences of zhm briefly starting, and then being restarted by zephyr-config? |

As of 12.04.2, you get -backports enabled and you get a quantal kernel, and openafs doesn't build. Two users have already gotten bitten by this, and more are likely on the way. apt-get install linux-image-generic will get you back to 3.2, but either the installer should check for this, or we should do something clever. /mit/jdreed/Public/make.log for a failed build log. |

Minor linerva to athena.dialup.mit.edu transition issue: athena.dialup.mit.edu has no IPv6 support. (I was trying to traceroute* to an IPv6 address, which is something I've done from linerva before, and was a little surprised when it didn't work, before I realized that it didn't work because I'd migrated to athena.dialup.mit.edu.)
