GDM theme isn't applied on Lucid

Reported by: broder Owned by:

Description

Lucid's default background is in a different location from Karmic's, meaning that diverting /usr/share/images/xsplash/bg_2560x1600.debathena.jpg doesn't do anything.

I don't know where Lucid is keeping its background image. But we should find it and replace it as well.

(Lucid doesn't use a throbber between the greeter and your desktop, either, meaning that the owl-spurting-blood throbber isn't getting used either)

For what it's worth, the Ubuntu desktop image appears to be at /usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png (which is secretly from Lucid, not Warty, and a jpg. See  LP:296538 for the full hilarity) in the ubuntu-wallpapers package, so that's the file we want to be replacing.

  • Status changed from new to development

It took me a couple of tries, but r24507, r24508, r24509, r24511, r24512, r24513 put together have a fix.

The fix is in -development. I'll move gconf2-config 1.8 and gdm-config into -proposed as soon as gconf2-config 1.7 hits production on Monday.

  • Status changed from development to proposed

Now that gconf2-config 1.7 is in production, I've moved gconf2-config 1.8 and gdm-config 1.20 into -proposed.

  • Status changed from proposed to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

Moved to production, so this is fixed, modulo #567 meaning that you need to kick gdm to see the new theme.
