     3The build system was rewritten in Python in 2014.  It is under version control at git+ssh://git.mit.edu/git/athena/build-system.git

     5Its primary purpose is to enforce our workflow.  The actual building is done by standard Debian tools like `sbuild`, and such tools can be used to build packages 
     6in an emergency should the build system fail in some way.
