NAME

athinfod - Supply information about a workstation

SYNOPSIS

       athinfod

DESCRIPTION

athinfod is normally run from inetd. It responds to those queries
which are defined in /etc/athena/athinfo.defs and enabled in
/etc/athena/athinfo.access. The query is read from standard input and
must be a sequence of printable nonspace characters terminated by a
newline (optionally preceded by a carriage return). Once the query has
been read, the receiving side of the inetd socket is shut down and
standard input is replaced with /dev/null, so that input from the
client may not affect the response to the query.
