Description
Thirdparty won't work in precise:
-audio: xmcd is gone
-programming: ironpython is gone
-graphics: glutg3 is now freeglut3, povray is gone, sdr is gone, xprint-utils is maybe gone?
-languages: gcj and jython-gcj got renamed. mit-scheme is completely doomed because of multiarch.
- libraries: libvtk, libginac, itppgot the usual version bump, pari2 got renamed, gmp3 got renamed, boost got renamed, xurlrunner is dead, libcv is libopencv

My guidelines in fixing -thirdparty were to demote things to recommendations if they had been EOL'd or merged, and only to use the depends-if-exists idiom if things were new additions or missing in intermediate releases (e.g. present in lucid and precise, missing in natty).

That seems a good heuristic to use.
Hmm, shouldn't this ticket be in state "committed"?
