Dell 7010 DVI-I stupidity

Description

The 7010s, when using DVI-I to VGA, display borked video (either a rapid black-and-white flashing of the screen, or the entire image compressed into a 5 rows of pixels at the top of the screen). This can be worked around by forcing the grub prompt to be displayed and forcing grub to 640x480. Yes, really.

I suspect this is a variant of the same stupid framebuffer issues we had with kexec'ing for the Natty upgrade (see r25347, r25349, r25351, r25353, r25357 and associated stupidity).

Appending nomodeset also "fixes" this in that you get 4:3 stretched to 16:9, but at least you get a usable desktop. I cannot come up with a video= setting that works.

(For maximum stupidity, this works if you force grub to display its menu, even for a few seconds, which presumably does some sort of framebuffer magic that I can't replicate with kms.)
