| Description |
We disabled Compiz, the upstream default wm, in favor of metacity because of LP:336932. It would be nice to not have to do that. Specifically, we should definitely cause the screen saver to actually cover your entire screen, and probably improve zwgc behavior (e.g. not make windowgrams show up in the taskbar). There's also a report of memory leaks we should look into: see 7479 et seq. |

The athena-renumber script writes out the line 127.0.1.1 $fqdn $hostname to /etc/hosts. Neither of these variables are set. That said, in the context of athena-renumber, since we have a static IP, there's no need to set an /etc/hosts entry for 127.0.1.1. Freshly-installed hosts have a line there for the actual static IP address, for instance. |
